Two-Tank Reef Dive

Two dives, one long lunch, no stopwatch.

Our everyday trip and the reason most people come back. Two dives on the reefs of Cozumel, ninety minutes of lunch on the boat in between, and never more than eight divers with two divemasters.

Duration
About 6 hours
Level
Certified divers, all levels
Group
Maximum 8 divers, two divemasters
Meeting point
Board at the marina in Cozumel between 8am and 9am

About this trip

You board between 8am and 9am and you are usually back on the dock between 3pm and 4pm, so it is a full day rather than a rushed morning. We run at ten to twelve knots because we would rather not push the marine life around, which makes the ride out part of the trip instead of something to endure.

Your dives are not cut short by a clock. They end when your air ends. And because we prefer groups of no more than eight divers with two divemasters, nobody is waiting on a crowd.

How the day runs

  1. 1

    8am to 9am

    Board at the marina

You arrive at the boat between 8am and 9am. We check certification cards and hand you a release form, then you set your gear up while the crew loads tanks and lunch.

  2. 2

    Morning

    First dive

We run out at ten to twelve knots and choose a site that suits the experience in the group. We will not take you somewhere that is wrong for your level. The dive ends when your air ends, not when a clock says so.

  3. 3

    90 minutes

    Lunch on the boat

We head back toward shore and put out purified water, fresh fruit, guacamole, chips, tuna salad, turkey, ham, fresh bread, crackers, cheese and salsa, with cookies for dessert. Ninety minutes, because a proper surface interval is a rest and not a snack break.

  4. 4

    Early afternoon

    Second dive

Usually shallower and longer than the first. Two divemasters in the water with a maximum of eight divers, so you are guided without being herded.

  5. 5

    3pm to 4pm

    Back on the dock

We rinse and hang your gear if you are diving with us again, and you are back on the dock between 3pm and 4pm with the rest of the day still ahead of you.
